Apple Bars
Ingredients
- 375 g Tree Top Evaporated Apples (1/2″ x 3/8″ x 1/4″)
- 2.30 g baking soda
- 125 g all-purpose flour
- 3 g salt
- 100 g sugar
- 110 g brown sugar
- 80 g quick-cooking oatmeal
- 141.9 g butter, cold
Directions
Bring apples to boil in 829.5 g Tree Top Apple Juice. Let cool in liquid. Drain lightly.
Sift together the flour, soda, salt and sugar; mix with oatmeal. Cut in butter until crumbly.
Spread one-half of the mixture in lightly greased 8″x8″ or 9″x9″ pan. Add the cooked apples, sprinkling with a small amount of sugar. Dot with butter. Cover with remaining flour mixture.
Bake in 350 F oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Cut into squares or bars and serve with lemon sauce or cold as cookies.
