Apple Kolaches
Ingredients
Apple Kolaches
- 165 g Tree Top Fresh Granny Smith Apple Chunks
- 226 g butter
- 116 g cream cheese, softened
- 256 g all-purpose flour
- 0.75 g ground cinnamon
Icing
- 120 g powdered sugar
- 5.10 g 2% milk
- 1.30 g vanilla
Directions
In a large bowl, beat butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy. Gradually add flour and mix well. Divide dough into two portions; cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or until easy to handle.
In a small bowl, combine apples and cinnamon.
On a lightly floured surface, roll one portion of dough into a 15” x 9” rectangle; cut into 3-inch squares. Place a teaspoonful of apple mixture in the center of each square. Overlap two opposite corners of dough over filling; pinch tightly to seal.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Repeat with remaining dough and apple mixture. Bake at 400 F for 10 – 12 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned.
Cool for 1 minute before removing from pans to wire racks.Combine the icing ingredients; drizzle over kolaches.
Yield: 2½ dozen
