Nancy’s Grandma’s Apple/Raisin Spice Cake
Ingredients
- 464 g hot water
- 330 g raisins
- 205 g shortening
- 402 g sugar
- 6 g salt
- 4.60 g nutmeg
- 4.60 g cinnamon
- 4.60 g cloves
- 228 g raw apples, roughly chopped or dried apples
- 512 g flour
- 9.20 g baking soda
- 122 g chopped nuts
Directions
Mix first 8 ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. Remove from stove and cool completely.
When mixture is cool, add remaining ingredients. Mix well.
Pour into a 9″x13″ pan sprayed with oil. Bake at 350 F for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
Serves 15.
